Basic Facial with Enzyme Treatment
The Basic Facial with a gentle fruit-enzyme exfoliation added, for a smoother, brighter-looking finish.
This appointment follows the same sequence as the Basic Facial: a double cleanse, an assessment under magnification, Dr. Kerri's extractions where appropriate, a mask, hydration and sun protection. To it is added a fruit-enzyme exfoliation, applied after cleansing and left to work for several minutes.
Enzymes loosen the bonds between dead cells on the surface of the skin without scrubbing or abrasion. The result is a gentler form of exfoliation that suits most skin types, and one that leaves the skin feeling smoother and looking more even and refreshed. Because the surface is cleared first, the extractions, mask and serums that follow are applied to cleaner skin.
The enzyme is selected at the assessment to match your skin on the day. It is a natural next step for clients who have had a Basic Facial and would like a little more exfoliation, and for skin that looks dull or feels rough to the touch without being irritated.
Suitable for
- Dull or rough-feeling texture
- Skin prone to congestion or clogged pores
- Most skin types, including many sensitive complexions
- Clients who want more exfoliation than the Basic Facial
Aftercare
Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day; freshly exfoliated skin is more sensitive to the sun. Keep the routine gentle for the next three to five days, with no retinoids, scrubs or exfoliating acids, and do not pick at any area where extractions were performed. Mild pinkness afterward is expected and typically settles within a few hours.

About basic facial with enzyme treatment
What is an enzyme treatment?
A mask or gel containing fruit-derived enzymes, commonly from papaya or pineapple, applied to clean skin for several minutes. The enzymes soften and loosen dead surface cells so they can be cleared away without scrubbing. It is one of the gentler forms of professional exfoliation.
Does it sting or tingle?
A mild warmth or tingling while the enzyme is working is normal and passes once it is rinsed away. If your skin is very reactive, Dr. Kerri shortens the time it is left on or chooses a milder enzyme.
How often do clients return?
Many clients return every four to six weeks. Dr. Kerri advises each client individually at the assessment, based on how the skin responded and what it needs next.
Can the enzyme treatment be combined with a peel?
No. Enzyme exfoliation and a chemical peel are not performed in the same appointment. If a peel is a better fit for your goals, Dr. Kerri will say so at the assessment.
